Strychnos Electri is born from a long lasting passion for art, fashion and unconventional jewellery and a desire to create mystical, bold, colorful and unusual pieces, using less exploited materials and methods.

Porcelain, the main material, offers endless potential, whatever comes to mind can be directly hand sculpted and bold patterns and colours can be added with different technics. The fragile, elegant nature of the porcelain in contrast with the playfulness of the patterns and colours added with glazes, that create this glass like effect, make the end piece an oxymoron art object.

The combination of various technics, sculpting, painting, ceramics and traditional silversmithing made this multidimensional project worth engaging with. The process of making is long and complex, involving designing, hand building each and every single piece, painting, glazing and firing in extremely high temperatures two or even three times.  Also, it presents several challenges mostly relating to the research and experimentation with new methods to fire fully glazed ceramic pieces.

All these elements make this multidimensional experimental project so unique and special and are reflected in the final outcome.
